MagCloud-Cover-Stock

Yearbook Production Blog: Chapter 4

Maybe this is a new option – or maybe the option existed and I didn’t see it until recently – but MagCloud now offers perfect binding for publications of at least 20 pages, which includes a heavier, 80# cover stock. It costs an extra $1 per copy, but it’s an extra dollar well-spent.

In a previous post I mentioned how the lack of a heavier cover stock was one of the few downsides to using MagCloud to print your yearbooks. Yearbook Production Blog: Chapter 3

At the end of my previous yearbook production blog post, I said that there was another reason why I use MagCloud for the Ridge Road Elementary School yearbook, and here it is…

Ridge Road Yearbook on MagCloud

Yearbook Production Blog: Chapter 2

I was very excited when I saw that the school yearbook I just finished had been featured on MagCloud’s homepage under their “What We Like” section. It’s always nice to have your work recognized and appreciated by others.

What is MagCloud?

MacCloud is the print-on-demand service that I have been using for the last three years to handle production of the Ridge Road Elementary School yearbooks. Print-on-demand, for those of you who don’t know, simply means that instead of having to print a large quantity of yearbooks all at once, they’re printed one-at-a-time as needed. You can literally order a single copy of the yearbook if that’s all you want. No more having to estimate how many yearbook you’re going to sell and ordering a minimum of 500, only to have 200 still sitting in a closet years later.

yearbook boxes

Yearbook Production Blog: Chapter 1

What’s In the Box?!

Yearbooks. Three hundred and fifty copies of the Ridge Road Elementary School yearbook to be exact. That’s what’s in the box.

This delivery marks the end of my 5th year as yearbook advisor for the school. The job is definitely a labor of love – every year when April rolls around I can be heard cursing and swearing that I’ll never do this again; but then the deadline passes, and June hits and the books arrive, and everything’s right with the world again. Despite my efforts to recruit someone to take over the responsibility, looks like I’ll be in charge for at least as long as I have children at the school. Which is another two years. But who’s counting?
