I’ve been a fan and a supporter of Fr. Roderick Vonhogen and SQPN since the day he launched his “Daily Breakfast” podcast – now known as “The Break.” My faith is important to me, and I appreciate and enjoy how he enthusiastically uses technology and new media as a way of spreading the good news and touching people’s lives.

Some years back, when Fr. Roderick first started experimenting with video, I saw an opportunity to help – beyond the financial contributions I make – and have a direct impact on the product he was creating. I built an animated SQPN logo that he could put at the end of all of his videos which was so well received, that I ended up creating similar animations for several other Catholic new media organizations.

Recently, I revisited that project and decided to give him a new, HD version of the logo animation. I saw it as another opportunity to use my talent to help others, as well as opportunity to experiment with a new 3D After Effects plugin.

If you find yourself in a position to help someone, why not help them? If you have the time, tools or the talent to make a difference in people’s lives, why not reach out and ask if they could use your assistance. Helping others feels good, and I consider myself very fortunate each time I find myself in a position where I get to do that.
